Artificial Intelligence
According to Quartz says that "Artificial Intelligence is software or a computer program with a mechanism to learn. It then uses that knowledge to make a decision in a new situation, as humans do. The researchers building this software try to write code that can read images, text, video, or audio, and learn something from it. Once a machine has learned, that knowledge can be put to use elsewhere", means that the AI powered machines don't need to take breaks or rest and they can analyze massive volumes of information all at once.
AI based technologies are already being used to help human benefit from significant improvements and increased efficiency in nearly every area of life.
Artificial Intelligence is able to see, hear and comprehend. means that it can see the computer vision, hear speech recognition and understand the natural language processing more than ever before. Because this was once a uniquely human characteristics, AI will open up a whole new world of possibilities.
Machine Learning
It is an aspect of computer science in which computers or machines have the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. It uses algorithms to learn from data patterns. There are 3 subsets of machine learning:
1. supervised learning (regression/classification)
2. unsupervised learning (clustering)
3. reinforcement (algorithm learns to react to an environment)
Deep Learning
One of the most powerful and fastest growing applications of AI is deep learning, which is a sub-feld of machine learning. It is used to solve problems which were previously considered too complex, and normally involve huge amounts of data.
Why Makes AI So Important Right Now?
- Speed of AI implementation
- Potential impacts on society
- Prioritizing of AI by every large tech company: Even Google, a company that used to say that mobile was its first priority, has shifted its focus toward AI. Every tech company is heavily investing in AI research and development which clearly demonstrates the importance that AI holds for business in general.
- Shortage of knowledge workers: such as teachers and consultants, to help to explain the implications of the growth of AI, which will in turn help businesses and individuals adapt to the new realities.
- Competitive Advantages for companies who first apply AI correctly
- Legal implications worldwide
- Ethical development
- Communication of advantage and opportunities
- Collaboration between private and public sector
- By implementing the Personal Learning Platforms. For example, imagine a course in which 30 students begin to learn about the same topic online, but rather than having the same experience, the course could be personalized in 30 different ways, customized to the previous knowledge and skills of each student, making it a more enjoyable and successful learning experience for all. And the instructors could also provide each student with personalized feedback, support and motivation. As a result, each of 30 students would maximize their own learning experience attained from the course.
- Individualized AI Tutors. To perform tasks such as answering basic questions from students regarding a given topic, helping to keep student on track with coursework as needed, or providing information about the university or institutions. AI teaching assistants could be run through voice recognition software, which would allow the students to speak directly to them.
- Personalized Games. Several recent studies have revealed that playing games can be one of he best ways to learn something new. Creating effective games, however, requires a lot of time intelligence tools. With these highly entertaining games, students will benefit from increased motivation and enjoyment, leading to better learning
